We have had some very bright and misty mornings this week. Those morning where the the mist lies in ribbons hugging the lower land till sun climbs high enough to get to it.

The last of the local Swallows seem to have disappeared but in the late afternoon passage birds arrive at the pool.Lapwing flocks have already gathered with groups of over 50 already. There were small flocks of Starlings mixed in with them.

The week turned up one or two waders with both Green Sandpiper and Greenshank seen at the pools.

The Hawthorn berries are ready for winter feast and no doubt redwings and fieldfares will soon be taking their fill.
