SUNDAY.

 

MONDAY - Pete JordanI

I recorded the Ring tailed Hen Harrier it came from behind the hide and flew over to the left of the Marsh. He also recorded 500 Teal, 100 Mallard, a male Gadwall, 350 Lapwings, the female Stonechat, 3 Grey Herons, 2 Canada Geese, Reed Bunting, Linnet and Skylark.

TUESDAY - David Holloway

5 Coot counted on the Marsh this morning together with plenty of Moorhen, 2 Canada Geese, 2 Little Grebe, Teal, Mallard, 3 male and 1 fem Shoveler and a flock of BH Gulls. 100+ Lapwing, small flock of Mistle Thrush and Woodpigeon on the ploughed field and one or two Pheasant,1 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk and 6 Magpie on the margins. On leaving hide 1 Grey Wagtail flew over.

Martin Grant - mid day

150+ Lapwing were over to the left of the Marsh and another 100 were in the field behind the Marsh with 5 Golden Plover and at least 6 Skylarks. 2 Buzzards were circling over the wood to the west. On the pools were 3 male 1 female Shoveler, only 10+ Teal, 12 Mallard, a pair of Little Grebe were displaying, a Coot , 3 Moorhen, a pair of Canada Geese, 100 Black-Headed Gulls and a Water Rail was heard. A Willow Tit was by the feeders when I arrived and was still there
when I was leaving. On the feeders were at least 14 Tree Sparrows, Greenfinch, Blue Tit and Great Tit with a few Chaffinch under the feeders. A pair of Red Legged Partridge were behind the hide as Iwas leaving along with a Kestrel.

WEDNESDAY -

Pete Jordan visited Wall Farm followed by Dave Buckingham then Tam Park. Pete and Tam had recorded 3 male 2 female Shoveler, female Stonechat, 2 Little Grebe, 6 Coot, and Tam had also
recorded the Little Owl and 30 Mute Swans at The Buttery. Dave Buckingham had recorded 600+ Lapwing, 3 Snipe, 60+ Teal, 50 Linnets and a Redpoll.

THURSDAY - Martin Grant

I found, a dead Moorhen that was intact and feathers from a Moorhen that had been plucked, at the same spot in the middle of the field in front of Wall Cottages. A Buzzard was being mobbed by 2 Carrion Crows. The Willow Tit, 2 Tree Sparrows, Great Tits and Blue Tits were at the feeders and were still there when I left. On the Marsh were 150+ Black-headed Gulls they were very vocal they appear to be preparing to breed as were the pair of Little Grebe and Canada Geese. Also on the Marsh were 3 pairs of Coot + an odd one, 2 male 1 female Shoveler, a few Teal and Mallard but only 1 Moorhen. 150 Lapwings were in the field behind the Marsh and as I
was leaving all the Lapwings in the fields to the west of the Marsh were put up and there were at least 800 and I could hear a few Golden Plover calling. The Red Legged Partridge were still in the field behind the hide and a small flock of 25 Fieldfare also flew over

SATURDAY. ????

Hen Harrier seen at 1.45pm. Also 7 Coot, 3 Little Grebes and a female Peregrine at 1.20pm.
