Sunday 22th Feb - Jon Lloyd Coot numbers still growingwith record of 14 birds today. Plenty of ducks on the pools as wel including 4 shoveler, large numbers of Teal and some Mallard. The rest of farm on this very cold day produced a Green Woodpecker calling and some good flocks of Fieldfare and smaller flocks of Redwing. I found two Treecreepers in the Hawthorn Paddock are usual location for these and out on the esatern fileds there were flocks of 100+ Stock Dove and a flock of 500 Woodpigeon. The Buttery produces 52 Mute Swans a winter record and with them the large Aylesbury duck(sone goose look alike!! and a Whooper Swan. This wet area yielded two Snipe and a Sparrowhawk flying low over the field. The feeders by the hide had a small flock of Tree Sparrows on them.
