SUNDAY 16th May (Steve France & Martin Grant)

A male Black-tailed Godwit flew in to the Marsh at 20-00 settled in for the night. Also the pair of Shelduck have been resident now for a week, the pair of Canada Geese have got 5 young, 50+ B H Gulls, 12 LBB Gulls circled over and flew of east, 12 Mute Swans also flew
of east, a couple of Sedge Warblers singing, 2 Little Grebe still at a nest.

Monday 17th May (Martin Grant)

Monday mid-day a Dunlin flew a couple of times around the Marsh before finding a place to settle, a male Ruddy Duck is unuasual at this site and given the reduction in numbers even more surprising, there are now 27 Black-headed Gull nests, the Little Grebes still busy at the nest, also heard singing 5 Common Whitethroat, 6 Read Buntings, Sedge Warbler and a Lesser Whitethroat opposite Wall Farm cottages.

This morning as I was getting my car out of the garage I heard a Swallow give the characteristic call given when a Hobby is around, sure enough I looked up just in time to see one flying low over my house. All for now Martin
